Situated on the west coast of Africa, Cameroon has a population of more than 15 million people in an area of 475.442 sq.km. 46% of the population are less than 15 years old, 58% live in rural areas, and there is only 1 doctor for every 12 000 people. English and French are both official languages in Cameroon with 286 other tribal languages offering an amazing diversity of African culture. There is a 63% literacy rate. 40 % of the population are Christian, 40% are Muslim (mostly in the northern region), and 20% follow indigenous beliefs.
